Head Golf Professional: Josh McCabe
Josh McCabe began his path in the golf industry by volunteering at Laytonsville Golf Course in 1998. In 1999, he began working as a Cart Assistant at Laytonsville and never looked back. He eventually worked his way up to Golf Shop Assistant and in 2002, upon graduation from Gaithersburg High School, he went on to attend and graduate from Methodist University’s Professional Golf Management Program. Upon graduation, he was elected to membership into the PGA of America on January 1st, 2007.
Aside from working in the public arena, Josh has also worked at two private courses: Montgomery Country Club and Congressional Country Club. After graduation, he returned to his roots at Laytonsville Golf Course as the First Assistant, and in October of 2007, was asked to be the Interim Head Golf Professional at Little Bennett Golf Course through a transition period. Upon the hiring of a new Head Golf Professional at Little Bennett, he accepted the Head Golf Professional position at Poolesville Golf Course in February 2008.
Josh is looking forward to continuing the philosophy that we want Poolesville Golf Course to be “your home for all things golf!”
Superintendent: Dan Hofmeister
Dan Hofmeister started his career as a teenager working at Greenspring Valley Hunt Club, a private facility in the Baltimore area. After deciding on a career in Golf Course Management, he attended the University of Maryland Institute of Applied Agriculture, graduating as Outstanding Senior of 1996. After graduation, he worked as Assistant Superintendent at Greenspring Valley Hunt Club, The Clubs at Regents Glen in York, PA during construction and grow-in, and finally coming to the Montgomery County Revenue Authority as Assistant Superintendent at Hampshire Greens in 2000. Dan was promoted to Head Superintendent at Northwest Golf Course in 2006, and transferred to Poolesville Golf Course after two seasons in October 2007.
Dan is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, and the Mid Atlantic Association of Golf Course Superintendents. He enjoys golf, lacrosse, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife and two young sons.
